A Bit About Me

Kasia Coleman is a British artist, Art & Design educator and creative practitioner whose work spans painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, performance and design.

Alongside her artistic practice, Kasia has over fourteen years of experience teaching Art & Design across primary, secondary, further and higher education. She is passionate about creativity as a means of exploration, communication and personal development, encouraging others to develop confidence in their own ideas and creative voice.

Kasia holds a BA in Fine Art from Loughborough University and an MA in Theatre Design with Distinction from the University of the Arts London. Her creative career has included professional experience across galleries, theatre, film and large-scale international exhibitions. She spent five years working as an Artist's Assistant and Exhibitions Coordinator at Science UK, the studio of Damien Hirst, contributing to major international projects including the Venice Biennale, Art Basel and Frieze.

Her practice has also extended into theatre, costume and performance. During her work in Further and Higher Education, Kasia helped develop Showroom, an Arts Council-funded creative social and performance platform that brought together students, young people, artists and the wider community. She also contributed to a community re-enactment of the seminal 1968 Fluxus Leaflet Concert, designing the event materials and leaflets. The work subsequently received national recognition and is now held within the Tate Britain archive.

Kasia's approach to both art and education is rooted in curiosity, experimentation and the belief that creativity can help us understand ourselves, others and the world around us. Her ongoing training in Therapeutic Art Counselling and her qualification as a Level 3 Forest School Leader further inform her interest in creativity, wellbeing, environment and holistic learning.

Her work as an artist and educator continues to explore the relationship between creative practice, imagination, community and personal expression.
